the people at sunday night dinner created a clone of our beloved site, and how much do i love them for it!

was anyone else absolutely DEVASTATED about tastespotting getting shutdown?
anyway, in my grief i went to look for similar sites and came across Rouxbe. i know it’s not exactly like tastespotting, but looking through the site i realized, that is not a bad thing!
“Rouxbe delivers personal instructional cooking videos - via the Internet - to home cooks: people like you, who love food and are looking to expand their culinary repertoire and improve their skills in the kitchen.” -rouxbe.com
hope this eases the pain a little…..=)

the KFC in Taiwan serves Portuguese egg tarts?!?!?!
this is seriously one of my favourites. i know of one bakery in LA that makes these, and i’m sure there are more. but i’m going to “go out on a limb here” and say no place in podunk kansas city, MO serves these. are there even any chinese bakeries out here? *sigh* even a traditional egg tart will do…….*sob*

Sue Doeksen has inspired me. i’m now on a mission to somehow incorporate a hand-drawn tea bag into the ihop website. muahahahaha

ok, i know this is old news. but seriously. i can’t get over how awesome this movie is, and how even more awesome the soundtrack is. i want to be friends with ellen page. or at least swap mix cd’s (do people still do that?)
“anyone else but you” by the moldy peaches has been stuck in my head since sunday.
“here is the church, here is the steeple. we sure are cute for two ugly people. i don’t see what anyone sees in anyone else but you.”

Arian Behzadi has created a site called TheLion, where he pairs found images with music.
The picture above has been paired with Jacques Dutronc’s Fais Pas Ci, Fais Pas Ca
i’m loving it

a site that i’ve begun to frequent is TasteSpotting.
while i’m still pretty clumsy in the kitchen, i love love cooking. and i especially love trying new recipes. TasteSpotting is where people come to share recipes they’ve created or discovered. the variety is wide and the pictures pared with each entry are beautiful.
